Let’s Define ‘Texas Strong’ for Ourselves
The same group of people who protected the Texas power grid have decided to open everything up 100% and eliminate mask mandates.
They’ve repeatedly proven they make decisions based on what is economically and politically expedient … for themselves.
Let’s entertain for a minute what Governor Abbott has announced.
Some people think it’s a good idea because our elders have been vaccinated and the numbers of cases are down. We are Texas Strong, right? If we get COVID, we’ll get through it, which kind of makes sense.
But if you dig a little deeper, you’ll know that every transmission is a chance for a mutation. If the virus mutates enough, the vaccinations won’t work anymore.
There are enough of us in Texas to start this all over again, déjà vu February 2020.
Let’s exercise some common sense: Wash your hands, don’t touch your face, stay home, and if you have to go out, wear a mask or 2 or 3.
As Texans, our key responsibility right now is to promote the general welfare. My mask protects you and your mask protects me. Let’s not prolong this.
Let’s show the country what Texas Strong really means.
