Let’s entertain for a minute what Governor Abbott has announced.

Some people think it’s a good idea because our elders have been vaccinated and the numbers of cases are down. We are Texas Strong, right? If we get COVID, we’ll get through it, which kind of makes sense.

Let’s exercise some common sense: Wash your hands, don’t touch your face, stay home, and if you have to go out, wear a mask or 2 or 3.

As Texans, our key responsibility right now is to promote the general welfare. My mask protects you and your mask protects me. Let’s not prolong this.

Let’s show the country what Texas Strong really means.
